The fifth CISM Military World Winter Games will focus primarily on the traditional and official CISM winter sports, provided that the necessary infrastructure is available. The program will be supplemented by cross-country running and other sports that will be given a stage as demonstration sports.

This is also intended to promote less established disciplines. In addition, Switzerland is integrating para-sports competitions to enable disabled soldiers to participate and to set a strong example of inclusion.
