Directly connected by a railroad tunnel with Andermatt and Realp, lies the sunny Upper Valais valley Goms. It lies on the route of the famous Glacier Express, a panoramic train that connects Zermatt with Davos or St. Moritz. Thanks to its location at over 1300 meters above sea level, Goms is one of the most snow-sure and largest cross-country skiing areas in Switzerland. The Nordic Center Goms, venue for the Nordic disciplines as well as the Ski-Orienteering at the Military World Winter Games, is embedded in the unique Goms winter landscape. It is the heart of the cross-country skiing trail, which extends over the high valley with 100km of classic and 100km of skating trails. Goms is already an established education and training center for amateur and competitive sports as well as professional organizer of national and international competitions.
Best snow conditions, an impressive mountain view on both sides of the valley and a modern competition infrastructure enable cross-country skiing at the highest level.
